RESPONSBILITIES:

This position is responsible for driving integration activities between MRI’s acquirees and MRI’s core ERP systems and shared services functions.  This role will also provide leadership to acquirees’ accounting professionals in order to have continuity of business processes and meet global accounting close cycle timelines.   Candidate must swiftly develop a deep understanding of purchase accounting, day-to-day accounting activities/shared services structure within MRI’s corporate Finance team, month-end close accounting processes, monthly financial reporting, balance sheet account reconciliations, and journal entries, in accordance with our accounting policies and US GAAP.  This includes direct responsibility for G/L accounting and surrounding systems, pre- and post-M&A involvement, accounting operations, audit, and tax management. 

  • Familiarizes swiftly and maintains deep involvement in the financial and tax due diligence pre-acquisition
  • Handles acquisition-closing low of funds
  • Takes a leadership role in maintaining, developing, redefining integration plans that incorporate MRI’s methodologies, prior experience and industry best practice
  • Manages Finance integration plans and adherence to project milestones by working closely with Finance and other departments
  • Work with MRI’s corporate Finance team and various tax, legal, audit, valuation service providers to perform post-acquisition integration, opening balance sheets and purchase accounting
  • Tracks and executes purchase agreement-related fiscal requirements and money movements including assisting with preparation of Net Working Capital true-ups and setting-up of earnout reports
  • Facilitates integration calls with acquired entities’ personnel, including an excellent onboarding experience, and analyzes accounting issues for the areas within the scope of this role in accordance with GAAP
  • Communicates new processes to acquired entities and coordinates with the Finance department to resolve questions arising from their implementation
  • Prepares requested materials for all required audits, both foreign and domestic
  • Drives processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting from acquired businesses, including facilitating transition of accounting duties to MRI’s corporate Finance team
  • Assists with organizing banking relationships with a focus on minimizing the number of open bank accounts and implement works with MRI treasury staff regarding cash management timing and processes
  • Ensures that tax compliance and statutory audit compliance have appropriate continuity and proper transition to MRI Finance’s corporate service providers
  • Works through rightsizing of acquiree Finance staff levels at appropriate timing
  • Communicates with overall MACS team and to other MRI departments key integration information and statuses

b. leading accounting in a multi-subsidiary holding company environment or similar experience; 

c. working as a value-add business partner across all functions of an organization;

d. experience working with business activities outside of North America;

e. experience working with acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration including monitoring progress towards targeted synergies and cost savings

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proven leadership ability and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, changes approach or method to best fit the situation, able to deal with change, delays or unexpected events
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills: versatile and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
  • Strong work-ethic, detail-driven and a commitment to doing whatever it takes to get the job done

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA license and/or MBA is preferred but not required
  • 7+ years of accounting experience; must have accounting management or supervisory experience
