MRI Software is seeking a QA Automation Engineer (Performance) to join our growing team in Cape Town! As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for contributing to an overall positive client experience by identifying performance issues.
Essential Functions Include:
- Working/writing scripts in JMeter and LoadRunner
- Working in SaaS type architectures
- Analyzing business scenarios
- Understanding the non-functional requirements
- Evaluating the objectives of any service level agreement
- Designing and creating test scripts – API Testing is a Plus
- Identifying parameters for testing
- Designing workload modules
- Executing performance tests
- Using consistent metrics for monitoring
- Comparison of previous results on same tests
- Identifying bottlenecks, and where they occur
- Interpret results and graphs
- Understand the relationship between queues and sub-systems
- Identify suggestions for performance tuning
- Knowledge of SQL indexes, keys, and tuning a plus
- Preparing test reports
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Direct project involvement and leadership of projects delivering enterprise software solutions
- Demonstrated experience in creating, executing, and analyzing results using industry leading tools like JMeter and LoadRunner
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, including multiple development methodologies (experience with Agile and DevOps principles preferred)
- Knowledge of enterprise software environments and deployment approaches for SaaS offerings
PERSONAL AND BUSINESS ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask in an effective and organized manor
- Accountable for commitments made and schedule deliverables
- JMeter and LoadRunner experience
- Experience in software development languages necessary for tool scripting
- Ability to debug web requests
- SQL experience would be a plus
- Performance testing knowledge basics (baseline, load, stress testing)
- Analyze system usage from test results (identify memory leaks, connection issues, bottlenecks, etc.)
EDUCATION
- BA/BS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Related Experience
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in providing Performance and Load Testing activities
- Track record of leading teams to deliver scalable, high quality, enterprise software solutions
