Autonomous using MRI Horizon as a powerful platform to provide FM services

A facilities management integrator, Autonomous provides FM services for businesses using a combination of site-based resources and an advanced technology platform. They offer independent oversight of an organisation’s supply chain, a 24/7 ‘smart’ helpdesk for round-the-clock support and insight and analysis of their customer’s operations to identify areas for improvement.

Business Challenge and Solution

Technology is becoming an increasingly important component of a successful FM strategy. For Autonomous, establishing a comprehensive and robust software to support and complement the services element of their business was crucial. And, with an intent to implement mobile processes, online workflow and in-depth reporting – a purpose-built FM solution was viewed as the only efficient way of delivering business objectives. In 2016, with existing knowledge of the system in their business, Autonomous adopted MRI Horizon and its powerful FM functionality. It works as a flexible back-end CRM system for the company to store, manage and maintain their client information – as well as offering control of planned and reactive maintenance, a web-based Contractor Portal and in-depth data for reporting.

There are so many benefits to using Horizon – and it’s clearly developed for use in FM. For instance, being able to manage assets on an individual level is crucial to us, and it’s something other systems don’t allow.

Autonomous relies on leading functionality for asset management, executing workflows to progress reactive maintenance tasks, booking and monitoring planned maintenance and processing related financial information for the businesses it represents.

Data analysis
With Power BI, Autonomous can leverage the intelligent data structure within Horizon to provide overviews of expenditure, recurring maintenance issues, supplier analysis and more. MRI’s high-standard, ISO 270001-accredited hosted environment also means that Autonomous can be confident in giving security assurances to clients.

Winning business
By promoting software as part of their go-to-market value proposition, Autonomous can use Horizon to demonstrate their capabilities and help secure new contracts. Their clients also don’t need to spend time monitoring and reviewing FM operations themselves, instead letting a third-party provider use proven tech.

Contractor management
Autonomous uses Horizon’s Contractor Portal to take complete control of the management of suppliers for their customers. They can set and monitor KPIs and SLAs, and react quickly when targets are not met.

Interoperability
While Autonomous currently uses Horizon primarily as a back-end solution, MRI’s open and flexible architecture means that as its business expands it can look to connect solutions and processes. Some of its clients are already able to access Horizon directly to raise maintenance requests, and this may also become more prevalent in the future.
